Rejection: Artemis

The good news is that this was a good rejection.  I know what you're thinking:  A good rejection?  It's one of those where the editors actually give you valuable feedback not because they have to, but because they think you either have potential, or at least got lucky enough to seem like you have potential.  That's what happened here.

In any case, for now it's off somewhere else.

  3. "The editors felt that this piece had a great deal of potential and, with some work, may find a home. We had some issues with the world building -- there were several questions the setting raised that we would have liked touched on, though not necessarily "explained." We feel that this would better demonstrate the characters' motives. Don't give up on this piece."

That's what was said, minus some bits I cut out.
