I usually buy books that have been recommended to me.

Just wanted to let you know, you won a book over at my blog. Dan Simmons' The Terror! Congrats!

If you send me an email (my email address is in my profile), I'll forward it to Hatchette books.

Thanks again for participating in my giveaway!Stephaniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05055676171075203563noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33813337.post-54339400948123848962009-02-18T22:19:00.000-05:002009-02-18T22:19:00.000-05:00Yeah, but it would help if there was more good art...Yeah, but it would help if there was more good art so that more folks could get read by stingy people like me...Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13571452656553970472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33813337.post-6315223483305906402009-02-18T22:10:00.000-05:002009-02-18T22:10:00.000-05:00Hmm.. yes.. Unfortunately, I only read the books with the good art - even if the ones with the bad art are amazingly stupendous.LoopdiLouhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01071128534047439266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33813337.post-57384113550774787352009-02-18T22:04:00.000-05:002009-02-18T22:04:00.000-05:00It's a good two cents. The problem I have with covers, unfortunately, is that they tend to be a wide range from great to trashy in the science fiction genre, but tend to be largely mediocre in the fantasy range. It's all repetitive in the U.S., and less so in England. Maybe I'm just unusual in that sense, but I like covers that really jump out at me even when they are simplistic.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13571452656553970472noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33813337.post-21547350141712548372009-02-18T20:03:00.000-05:002009-02-18T20:03:00.000-05:00Cover, Title, Blurb - the holy trinity of book sel...Cover, Title, Blurb - the holy trinity of book selection if the only thing you're doing is walking into a store to browse. Beyond that, I buy based on recommendations and my familiarity with an author. There's a reason I slogged through the Eddings' awful Elder Gods series.. because I loved the Belgariad and Mallorean. Too bad David Eddings decided to utterly destroy my faith in his work. *sigh*

Anyway, that's my two cents.LoopdiLouhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01071128534047439266noreply@blogger.com
